A pause here. Yes - of course I watched The Royal Wedding. And I was impressed. Of course, I really truly hope that Catherine and William will have a wonderful enduring marriage. I hope they will both be faithful and loyal.

But I couldn't help but wonder about CAMILLA PARKER BOWLES WINDSOR, the mistress who finally married her Prince, Charles, years after they met. I saw her image on the television screen once or twice and I wondered what she was thinking! I'm one of those people who wishes that Charles and she had married young and never mind all that Princess Shy Di business.

But here we are, 2011, and of course I wondered if Diana was hovering with pride over William and Catherine.

Is there really a way to mistress-proof a marriage?

Read a bio of Dusty a few years ago and she was a lesbian woman who had turbulent relationships. I wonder if she would have had an easier time of it today, when lesbianism is so much more open and acceptable than it was in those days when she was in the limelight.

They have had a very long courtship, one significant break-up in all those years, and it seems that William is dedicated to Kate but will this royal marriage be the love connection that it seems to be forever.

Missy here! March 24, 2014  Tomorrow is L'Wren's funeral in an old cemetery in Hollywood.  She commit suicide last week, leaving Mick Jagger, his daughters, and close friends and family devastated.  No note but deliberate, there is plenty of speculation on why.  My guess, a lot of this and a little of that just piled up on her.
I do think of L'Wren as Mick's mistress.  For years their relationship was a secret before they started stepping out into the public venues with the camera's flashing on them.  I put up a more recent post about her and suicide.

"I won't become a martyr to keep my relationship." 

Some people think that mistresses are especially martyrs for their relationships, but of course that isn't true. Many people, including wives, keep their marriages by being martyrs too. These relationships are unhealthy because take too much self sacrifice as a term and condition of the relationship.

I'm not talking about the fact that long-term commitments often do take some self sacrifice or compromise of both partners - or all concerned - through certain times - but that at no time will the Martyr's wants and needs be considered.

You have to ask yourself if your station in life - the station you were born in, the station you achieved through education, employment, or other means, is better or worse than you station now. Don't have delusions of grandeur. Would you be better off independent or any relationship? In a traditional marriage?
