GRACE CODDINGTON'S MEMOIR

I listened to this audio book, read by the author Grace Coddington, with her British accent, and thoroughly enjoyed hearing her tell her own tale of leaving home at 18 and giving modeling a try.  Her first assignment was nude, though she didn't understand that was the case when she showed up, but she went with it.  Coddington is well known as Vogue magazine Editor Anna Wintour's sidekick, both included in the documentary called The September Edition. She's the red haired one, if you haven't guessed, the one who actually can speak to Anna candidly. According to Grace, it was the film "The Devil Wears Prada," a fictive account, the human devil said to be based on Anna Wintour, that brought Anna - and then Grace - to infamy.  It was that film and all the commentary, and her true relationship with Anna, that lead the normally publicity shy (OK, we'll try to believe her) Grace to go ahead and speak up for herself, her life, and her profession and write her book.

One of the things I appreciated was that she didn't do much introspection and certainly no apology for her life or rise in fashion but as I also read other audio memoir type books this past year by British women, I'm beginning to think there is something British about it. Certainly this woman must have faced competition and made some enemies along the way, but her own perspective is that she went from event to event, opportunity to opportunity, almost as if it were all fate or a done deal. But believe it: she worked her butt off.

WHAT CAN THE FRENCH TEACH US ABOUT MARRIAGE?

VOGUE : MARRIAGE : WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM THE FRENCH?  by Christina Perez published April 8, 2017

As Piazza points out in her book* only 47% of French say infidelity is unacceptable in a marriage, compared to 84% of Americans. Still that doesn't necessarily mean French women are as tolerant to affairs as we've been lead to think.  "That is a silly cliche you Americans believe," one of the writer's French friends tells her before clarifying, "I don't mind if my president has sex with other women, that's not my problem... of course, I hope my man doesn't do that to me." Instead the French believe in working to keep each other interested so that neither person wants to have an affair in the first place. "It's work. He still need to conquer me every day and I need to make him want me every day. I need to put in the effort - and here's what's important: I want to do the work,"  Piazza's friend says....

GRACE by GRACE CODDINGTON : MISTRESS MANIFESTO BOOK REVIEW

RUMORED MISTRESS OF THE MONTH ALINA KABAEVA and VLADIMIR PUTIN

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2016 BELOW! IS SHE MARRIED TO PUTIN? DOES SHE HAVE ONE OR MORE CHILDREN WITH HIM?

Is Alina Kabayeva, Cover Girl for January 2011 Vogue Magazine (above), and a former OLYMPIC GOLD METAL WINNER (Athens 2004), the mistress of Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Russia? She is one of the very select few - mostly ballet dancers and woman athletes who Putin is said to have promoted through the ranks of his party and the Russian Duma (Lower house of Parliament) - who has access to him, which has been disputed. In 2008 when he was still President, rumors rose that Putin was the father of her child which Alina has as a single mother. Alina refuses to name the father. These rumors were reported in the Moscovski Korrespondent newspaper which also said he had left his wife Lyudmila, to marry the ex-gymnast, now model. In response the government closed down the newspaper!

So is PUTIN, really the father of her love child? Has she really been his mistress or was this just an affair? Or is Alina maybe just the equivalent of Monica Lewinsky? (If so, then I don't consider her a Mistress!)

Maybe Alina and Putin are just victims of sick minds and a crazy press?

We just know that the Russian and World Press is going crazy with this story...

We're linking above to a site that has some AMAZING photos of this rhythmic gymnast who appears to have double joints in some of the poses she is capable of...

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2016 ******

UPDATE  JANUARY 21, 2016
DAILY MAIL - PUTIN's EX WIFE MARRIES BOYTOY 21 YEARS YOUNGER THAN SHE!
UPDATE OCTOBER 14, 2015
TELEGRAPH - UK - PUTINS GIRLFRIEND HAS GIVEN BIRTH  (Rumors, the girlfriend is not necessarily Alina - lots of pics on this link of Vladimir looking good.)

In February 2011, I elected ALINA KABAEVA as (Probable) MISTRESS OF THE MONTH, as Mistress of Vladimir Putin, who as you know, rules Russia.  The rumor had been swirling around the world that the ex Olympic athlete had his favor, and if you use the search feature embedded in this blog, you can bring up primary posts on the beautiful Alina.

Though I will also post the link above as an update on the first blog post I made on Alina, last night I was riveted to find that the Daily Mail, a publication that hails from the United Kingdom, has a scoop on her.  For Alina showed up at a ice skating event expensively dressed (my thoughts on her beautifully embroidered dress and well tailored coat, supposedly half hiding a wedding band, and WITH TWO BOYS, whose identities and ages are unknown.

Now a while back, I heard a rumor that a Russian woman, said to be Putin's mistress, had given birth in Switzerland.  (A great country for Mistresses by the way.)  There was no mention of the name of this woman, and it might not have been Alina, but let's just say that if the woman was Alina, then the child would probably not be one of these two boys, it would be too young.  One of them does to me look like Vladimir, but then maybe he just looks Russian.

In 2013  Putin and his long time first wife did divorce, simply.  He has refused to speak of his private life, and perhaps that is for the best.  We do get so caught up here in the United States on the private lives of our public officials.  The questions is always whether of not what happens in their private life has or will reflect on their performance in office, and if someone has a messy private life it usually does not reflect well on them.    However, even a World Leader such as Prime Minister Putin does need a private life, to love and be loved.  It could be said that such a man needs a woman to give him a wonderful life outside of his work.  - Missy

FROM THE LINKED ARTICLE :

She is rarely seen in public but when she is, the former gymnast is accompanied by a large security detail which is believed to be government-organized.

Claims of a relationship between Putin and Kabaeva fist began in 2008 when it was reported by a Moscow newspaper run by media tycoon and former KGB spy Alexander Lebedev.

There were rumours that Kabaeva was pregnant last May when she attended a girls' gymnastics competition in Moscow wearing a loose-fitting red dress which appeared to be hiding a baby bump.

Russian media said she looked slightly 'overweight' and 'older' in the dress which was in stark contrast to her usual, figure-hugging ensembles.

In October the same year, a slim-line Kabaeva was spotted wearing a ring on her right hand for the first time.
