WHERE DOES SHE GO TO MEET RICH MEN? OPINION BY MISSY

Hi Missy,

I'm divorced and it's been a while since I met anyone new.  I would like to eventually remarry but first things first.  Where do I go (as if there were no Coronavirus-19 to consider) to meet rich men?

Alice
Philadelphia

Hi Alice,

So make a list of the things you like to do, things that make you happy or engaged with life.  Attend events and do activities in person - not online where fantasy relationships and the avoidance of meeting another person happen way too often and not only string along your hopes but waste your time. That is my answer pre-Coronavirus-19.  As I write this, I know that our medical experts and scientists have been working so fast to find the answers - vaccinations, immunity tests, etc.

As for rich men, you know they are everywhere, especially because some men who are not rich will become rich and others who are rich will not be able to continue being financially successful or loose everything. But I understand, we all need money.

MARINAS - Best if you don't get sea sick.
(One friend walks her dogs at a Marina once a week.  Go on landlubber dates a while before you get on a boat with a man or people you don't know well.)

BEACH CLEAN UP or NATURE RESTORATION EFFORTS

VOLUNTEER WORK : HISTORICAL SOCIETIES (including military)

CONSERVATION

SOME ANIMAL CHARITIES (Elephants and Hippos, for instance)  Volunteering at the local animal shelter.

GOLF

HIKING and WALKING CLUBS

HORSE RACING and POLO and EQUESTRIAN EVENTS (Often open to the public without having to be the member of a club or pay a fortune for entrance.)

ADVENTURE TRAVEL with groups : Avoid cruises. It's often mostly families or women traveling and there is food, food, and more food. A white water rafting trip is more like it.)

BOOK CLUBS (in person, not on line) so long as the discussion is about literature and not bodice-ripper romance novels. See how many men show up early on.

ART GALLERY OPENING SHOWS or art walks or gallery hoping with a group.

PRIVATE CLUBS : If you go to a sports event, try to watch the game from the club house.  I don't think sports bars are a great place to meet men. There's too much drinking, they have their regulars, and most of the people there are there to watch the game.

But if you truly love the sport and are a fan and can follow the game and talk the players you can give it a try.  Still you must distinguish yourself as not "just one of the boys".

RESTAURANTS /LUNCH : If you go out to lunch alone or with a friend - sometimes an office mate - if you're on a budget - it's worth going to the more expensive place and bag lunching it other days to stay in budget.  Look around the room and see if there are any men dining there.  Is it too much business?  Are any of the men who are lunching coming over to introduce themselves to you or any of the other women you're with?  Don't become a lunch regular at any one place.  Seek out other opportunities to lunch and meet. It used to be that men would have a waiter send over a drink asking to be introduced to women.  It's OK to say no to the drink but do look to see who sent it, nod or make eye contact, or say thanks.  You can ask the waiter to get the person's card.  (Everyone should have a card that has their name and personal phone number on it which is personal card rather than a business card. You're not going to call a person at their work to have a personal conversation.)

VOLUNTEER EVENTS - CHARITY EVENTS : Despite the criticism that it's all about dressing expensively and rubber chicken dinners there is a lot of meeting and mating going on by people who volunteer and people who donate to and go to charity events.

MORE FROM THAT 20/20 INTERVIEW OF JUDITH CAMPBELL EXNER : SHE CALLED THE WHITE HOUSE OVER 70 TIMES

A few days I posted what I learned watching an old 20/20 television interview of Judith Campbell Exner, considered to be a Mistress of President John F. Kennedy in the early 1960's on YouTube.  Judith provided evidence of her story during this featured program that was run in December of 1996 - many years after she and Kennedy ended their relationship in December 1962.

She said they never had to sneak around.

She called him at the White House over 70 times.  Her name is recorded.  She visited him there.  He gave her the gift of a diamond and ruby broach.  He sent her tickets to his Inauguration as President but she didn't go.  She called the tickets evidence that he was "reckless."*

As for her messages in plain business or manila envelopes that she never peaked into between J.F.K. and Sam before his election, she says she thought they had a mutual plan to get rid of Cuba's Fidel Castro, the revolutionary who had taken over that island country where the Mafia had made a fortune at casinos.  They had been thrown out of Cuba and wanted back in.  Getting rid of Castro, from other sources (see Mistress of the Month Marita Lorenz Mistress of the Month in May 2915. ) did not necessarily mean killing him?

Columnist Liz Smith, a respected journalist at the time, was asked by other women interviewers if she believed Judith, if she though the Kennedy-Mafia-Castro story was true and she said in her opinion it was.  It angered me that Judith had to be questioned as to her truthfulness of a nationally broadcast television show by other women.

Eleven months before the Dallas, Texas assassination of President John. F. Kennedy,  Judith Campbell went to the White House one last time to see Jack.  It was December 1962.  Their relationship had run its course.

*The term reckless as well as the term "risk taking" I've heard or read many times about this President, but also "compartmentalized has been used.  One gets the impression he was not reckless as a President but in his personal life.  Was she not reckless in being a courier between him and Sam Giancana?

WHAT A 20/20 TELEVISION INTERVIEW WITH JUDITH CAMPBELL EXNER REVEALED

I watched this interview, which aired in December 1996, and included questioning by Barbara Walters, an interview with columnist Liz Smith, and other women.  These women were the pioneers - the very few women - who were in important positions in the media at the time.  You can find the interview on YouTube.  I'm not posting it here because it was broken into segments and the quality of the video is low.

First Judith Campbell Exner was called "a dying woman" though she looked great.  She did die a couple years later.

She said she had dated Frank Sinatra briefly.  Then Sinatra introduced her to JFK.  She was 26 years old.  This was before John F. Kennedy was elected and she thought she was his only "other woman."  Since she had left a marriage in which her first husband, who she married at 18 years old, actor William Campbell, had never been sexually faithful to her, she felt torn about now being "the other woman" but John F. Kennedy's smiling eyes and charisma, were irresistible. This was not a light decision for her.

John called her every day while campaigning on the road.  She showed documents including her schedule book in which she recorded that on March 7, 1960, she spent her first night with him as a lover, at the Plaza Hotel in New York.  Shortly, on April 6/7 of 1960, J.F.K. asked her to arrange a meeting with Sam Giancana, a Chicago Mafia boss, to help with his campaign.  To me this proves that the man himself was involved in getting the Mafia to help him in his election, something in very many films and books is put upon his father, the former Ambassador to Great Britain, Joseph Kennedy. Until this reveal, I though the father's machinations were not known to his son.  J.F.K also showed her a sack of money and asked her to take it to Sam.

This is what Judith has to say about her culpability.

"Everyone expects of me to have greater judgement that Jack Kennedy and this is what always amazes me that I should have been suspicious.  I trusted this man.  I loved this man."

JUDITH CAMPBELL EXNER's LAST STAND

PEOPLE : DARK SIDE OF CAMELOT : JFK and THE MOB

EXCERPT:  "I lied when I said I was not a conduit between President Kennedy and the Mafia," says Judith Campbell Exner, the same woman who first shocked the nation twelve years ago with the revelation that she had an affair with President while he was in the White House.  "I lied," Exner continues,"When I said that President Kennedy was unaware of my friendship;s with mobsters.  He knew everything about my dealings with Sam Giancana and Johnny Roselli because I was seeing them for him.  I wouldn't have been seeing them otherwise.  And I would never have known mobsters if it hadn't been for Frank Sinatra."

THE LAST ACT OF JUDITH EXNER - EXCERPTS FROM ARCHIVED VANITY FAIR

VANITY FAIR - THE LAST ACT OF JUDITH EXNER

This article is about Judith finding her "lost son."

EXCERPT: Exner stared at the photo on her nightstand: a laughing infant with a birthmark on his brow.  For years she had lain down to sleep every night within reach of that picture and another keepsake - a loaded gun.  Both are legacies of her life thirty years ago - of the love affairs that made her notorious, and the son of a brief liaison with a Hollywood producer and given up for adoption.  ... Exner's relationship with Sam Giancana cost her her son.
