Welcome to my long term Mistress Project here at Mistress Manifesto BlogSpot!

If you happen to be home and reading this blog for the first time, I welcome you to read the whole thing!  I guarantee you will learn a lot, perhaps achieve an understanding, and maybe you'll even question yourself and your choices.

Mistress Manifesto BlogSpot was founded with empathy for those who find themselves involved with someone they can't have as their one and only - at least not yet - though many of the people I've elected as Mistress (or Mantress) of the Month over the last decade have not wanted to be monogamous or married or involved with just one person.

A point I want to make is that there are probably thousands more Mistresses who we will never know about because their lives were far more ordinary than those who have been publicly acknowledged or speculated about and written about.

Although I don't normally plan too far in advance, because of the Coronavirus-19 pandemic and all the concerns around that, I've been working hard to research and pre-post so that you'll have interesting posts to read a bit into the future.  Should I myself be negatively effected and unable to post as I would normally, I might skip a month or post every other month.

I've been thinking how orders to quarantine and limit encounters with others is effecting our personal lives.  I'm sure this makes it much more difficult for people who are having extramarital relationships to see each other. It's been predicted that domestic violence will increase the longer people are cooped up and well, on each other's nerves because they can't go out.  Economic impact is one of my bigger worries.

Athina has established her own Equestrian Events - https://www.athinaonassis-horseshow.com/ and that she is friendly with Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco: rumors that Monaco was saved financially by Ari Onassis persist.  Clearly the offspring of the men who were once in business together and who ended their business relationship aren't holding any grudges.

SHOULD YOU KEEP HIM? HERE'S SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER STARTING WITH LIFE ISN'T FAIR

FAIR IS FAIR, but life isn't, so being Kept shouldn't be different for men than for women, but biology and societal expectations, as well as the way you were brought up, still play a role in this decision. Especially if you're heterosexual.

I was thinking about a friend of a friend who I met at parties here and there, enough to get updates on his life.  Lyle (a fake name) came to California to pursue acting while a job in management at a factory his father owned always awaited him in the east.  He just wasn't interested in the family business. He was short, well built but not a muscle builder or athlete, and good enough looking.  His long term job at a famous men's clothing store was honorable enough.  He was good at sales.

He was even better at picking up women who came shopping in the store to buy gifts for the men in their lives, including friends, fathers, and brothers and current boyfriends.  Lyle didn't actually pick them up at the store but he conversated with them and joked around. One of his lines that his friends who were less able at seduction tried to use without success that seemed to work well for him was "So when are you going to ask me out?"  Then he would provide his business card.

Lyle let women call him.  Many did.  Perhaps out of curiosity.  By setting it up this way the woman was the pursuer.  It was almost as if he was announcing that he was up for a role reversal (i.e. the traditional role of male as pursuer of female, as well as the one that goes that it's the man who has to afford dating).  Can't say they weren't warned.

Lyle meanwhile honed his abilities to satisfy women sexually, or so the tale went.

Another thing Lyle honed was the ability to let a woman break up with him, even though he knew he was done, supposedly by letting her be the one who said the words, there would be less hurt feelings. So he'd hang in there, even if it took months, doing nothing especially wrong, or different, just waiting, while he flirted with others. That's still manipulative though, isn't it?

He'd moved in with a woman and played at being a sort of house-husband, for more than one woman who paid all the bills.  Last I heard, however, it seemed the women expected more eventually.  About a year was about as long as the women continued their experiment of Keeping a man who wants to work on his - well, fill in the blanks, screenplay, novel, art, music, acting.  (As a creative myself, I hate to pick on work in the arts here, but it's true to the story.)

As I've heard of many situations just like this one, just that most all of the other men who found this accommodation were married to the women who Kept them, I asked myself what was different.  The answer is that the men were full of confidence that letting a woman support them was absolutely OK, that they deserved to be supported, no matter how they were raised, while women these days seem to want financial independence, no matter how they were raised.

THE RED FILE by ALEXIS MANTHEAKIS - SHOCKING DETAILS?

These days I have to wonder what it takes to shock but various reviews of the book I read seem to agree this book contains some details that those who consider themselves unshockable might find interesting - details which were part of the testimony against "Doda,"  Athina's husband, at court cases during her divorce.  Behind his wife's back he apparently lodged his mistress Nicky T. on different floors of the same hotels - an old trick - for instance.

Previously a spokesman for the Onassis-Roussel family (the family Athina Onassis was raised in, Thierry Roussel being her father), author Alexis Mantheakis details events of a human nature in locations in which equestrian events were staged, overall giving the impression that Nicky T. was kept close by as the couple traveled.

ANGELYNE THE BILLBOARD QUEEN OF LOS ANGELES GETS HER OWN SERIES - SORT OF

Notes: A while back, in October 2010, I elected Hollywood icon Angelyn as our feature.  Subtitled: Is this Billboard Queen a Mistress or a Savvy Business Woman? I said I had met Angelyn. Since Angelyn seems to have been driving a pink Corvette around Los Angeles and making pit stops at vintage clothing stores and selling t-shirts out of the back of the vehicle for years, it's not that unusual to have a sighting of her or to cross paths with her. I actually spoke with her ever so briefly. 

ANGELYN has a series based on a Hollywood Reporter expose about her.  It's fictive - sort of - Angelyn herself is an Executive Producer.  Confusing the truth is something she likes to do though she has consistently slipped into her alter ego to the point where she lives and breaths her creation.

EXCERPT about the writer's source of information:

The man, who claimed to work in an undefined role for the federal government, said he was a hobbyist genealogist, occasionally taking on paid assignments in the field as an amusing side gig.  A few years earlier, he'd decided it'd be fun to set himself the challenge of cracking Angelyne's case.  "And I did," he explained.

Later at the 101 Coffee Shop in Hollywood, the genealogist - who looks like Michael Kelly's contained political operative Doug Stamper from House of Cards - unfurled an elaborate story of Angelyne's past, based on material he contended he'd enterprisingly pulled and synthesized from a global network of public databases.  He laid down a folded printout of a row of yearbook photos.

EXCERPT:  Angelyne, 67, is the L.A.- raised daughter of Holocaust survivors, a Jew who found refuge in what Baum described as "Shiksa drag."  She was born in Poland in 1950 to parents who were among the 500 to survive out of a town of 13,000.  Her parents were sent to concentration camps before escaping to America and settling in L.A. Fairfax District.  After Angelyn's mother died in 1965, her father remarried another Holocaust survivor and the family moved to Panorama City, where she attended high school.  While her paper trail ends there, Angelyne soon reinvented herself as a blonde bombshell, famous simply for being famous...
