Back in February 2011 - twelve years ago! - here at MISTRESS MANIFESTO, this was the headline for my first post about Alina and in recent weeks she has finally spoken.  Alina says Putin is a nice man and she loves him. That month she was Mistress of the Month and it was dedicated to her.

What happened is that, due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the reporters have all been trying to find out more about Putin's personal life, which he has always kept private. Locating a gorgeous house that displays his wealth, but which he says he does not personally own, Alina was also located.  It appears that she is living on the property in a house of her own, very much the Lover next door. These reports have been all over the Internet, with Daily Mail On Line (Daily Mail UK) perhaps having the scoop.

The rhythmic gymnast is a champion athlete and also quite beautiful. She is also a patriot of Russia. From a womanly point of view, I think it's wonderful that she is happy and has achieved a romantic whirl of a relationship.  However, one always does wonder how much she knows or understands about Russia's destruction of Ukraine and its people.  I would wonder about her as I have wondered about Adolph Hitler's long time mistress Eva Braun.  You see, maybe this is erroneous but Eva has not been considered highly intelligent while Alina Kabaeva (also spelled Kabayeva) is certainly highly intelligent. Yet, far from the warfront in a palace, she may be kept ignorant or devote herself more to the man than the country.

ALINA KABAEVA - VLADIMIR PUTIN'S MISTRESS - LOCATION UNKNOWN - CALL TO HAVE HER RETURNED TO RUSSIA

Back in February of 2011, I featured ALINA KABEYEVA as Mistress of the Month, for her highly rumored relationship with President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Although President Putin desires that there be no coverage of his personal life, Alina, a rhythmic gymnast, was a star athlete in her time, an Olympic gold medal winner, famous in her own right due to her accomplishments and beauty, and has been an irresistible topic for journalists.  

While awarded a professional position in business in which she reportedly earns about $8 million a year, the mysterious Putin as a lover and father of two to four children, simply makes her even more interesting. (Since my postings on her, in which I mentioned she reportedly has had two sons, there are reports that she also has twin daughters. There have also been mentions that she as well as Putin have been seen in public wearing wedding bands. Further, there are reports of a young daughter of another Putin mistress living in Monaco.) Now there is a call for Alina and her children to leave Switzerland, where she is reportedly living in a well secured house.  Because of the myriad of takes on this situation I want to mention an awareness but also that these reports remain "where there's smoke, there's fire." Therefore, I'm not going to link to any news posts or a post that might be more correct than another at the moment while continuing to watch the story build.

I've been following the news on the war against Ukraine by Russia intensely and I don't want my readers to think otherwise. I'm horrified at the aggression, the attacks on civilians, the destruction of infrastructure such as hospitals, theaters, and schools, and have engaged personally with a number of know-it-all men who have a variety of military and political theories about the entire situation, but I think our President Joseph Biden has a wealth of information from our own military and intelligence and is wise to act as a gentleman to the bully.  And I sure do wonder what Edward Snowden might have to say, since he applied to be a duel citizen of Russia and the United States.

What, if anything does Alina know or think? My guess is that if she is not living in Switzerland, the reports that President Putin has removed his family to an underground city (not just a bunker) in Siberia could even be right.

It's simply impossible for me to imagine that Putin is currently sane because it is currently impossible for me to imagine that he believes what he is saying.  So many people continue to believe the myths of motivation and other information that he controls. He is being compared to Stalin, to Hitler, and one article I read regarding Alina Kabaeva suggested she was his "Eva Braun." ***

Three weeks ago it was reported by some news outlets that the Russians would give it a few days. Now the situation seems to be more intense than ever. Sanctions are in place that are intended to cancel the wealth of the Oligarchs, there are reports of people who were in hiding being taken as prisoners to work as slave labor for two or three years, reports of women over the age of 60 being raped and hung or committing suicide. Overall it is tragic and frightening.

The Mistresses of Dictators sometimes give a whole new meaning to the idea that a Woman Should Stand By Her Man!

EVA BRAUN - LIFE WITH HITLER : HEIKE B GORTEMAKER

Back in June 2010, when I was just getting into the groove with this blog, I elected Eva Braun Mistress of the Month.  It was easy to think of Eva because she was one of the most known, infamous, 20th century Mistresses ever and her story of being married at the very last moment to Adolf Hitler before the two of them commit suicide makes us wonder how she ever got involved, stayed with, and endured with a man who was so evil.  Was she also evil?

Since then I've covered some other Mistresses who are part of the Holocaust history. You can find posts about them in the archives.  November 2017 was dedicated to Righteous Gentile Oskar Schindler's (i.e. of the film Schindler's List) Mistresses.  That month included a post about Ruth Irene Kalder, the Mistress of Nazi War Criminal Amon Goth (also in that film).   June 2018 brought forth a new question about to CoCo Channel, the fashion designer, as I asked if she was a Nazi Spy or simply a Society Woman in Love due to her affair with Baron Hans Guther Von Dincklage.

I recently read a book about Eva called  EVA BRAUN - Life with Hitler by Heike B. Gortemaker

Page 85 "THE DIARY"

Meanwhile, hardly any letters or personal documents exist from the dictator himself or from his companion of many years that shed any light on the nature of their relationship, or Eva Braun's role, or how she saw her role. It's well known that Hitler rarely wrote private letters, aside from thank-you notes or birthday cards. His secretary Christa Schroder, in fact, stated immediately after the end of the war that he had considered hit "his great strength" that "even in the years of struggle he wrote no letters." Such letters might have fallen, "into the wrong hands" and been "exploited." He also, before his suicide, made sure to destroy the greater part of his private correspondence, of which there was presumably little to begin with. Julius Schaub, hs adjutant of many years, left the bunker in Berlin for this reason at the end of April 1945, on direct orders from Hitler, in order to burn the private letters and files stored in safes at Hitler's Munich apartment and at the Berghof.

EXCERPT:  For instance, unlike other biographers, she rejects the assumption that Hitler and Braun did not have a normal sex life; the book even includes a story about a couch where they shared many an assignation -- and where Neville Chamberlain later sat.  The author also doesn't buy the idea that Braun was anything less than a passionate believer in Nazism.  "She was in the loop and knew what was going on.  She was no mere bystander." Gortemaker explained to the Observer.

WOMEN IN NAZI GERMANY - WHAT REALLY WAS THEIR ROLE?

If interested in EVA BRAUN, the Mistress of ADOLF HITLER, search for her using the imbedded search block on the side bar.  She was the Mistress of the Month here in June 2010.  Perhaps the best known Nazi Mistress, Eva also seemed to me to be a woman who tried to embody Nazi ideals of womenhood by being athletic.  However, as HowlingPixel does at this linked site, the average woman was expected to be an ideal wife and mother, and submissive to the Nazi ideals.  Thought I'd post this link because there are a great number of photos and a fairly extensive study of the Nazi cultural phenomena.

MAYBE WE WILL ALWAYS WONDER HOW MUCH EVA BRAUN KNEW

Most of us today loath Hitler and Nazism, but there are still people alive today who were in concentration camps, who lost their families, who were victimized by the Holocaust and they can tell you that there was a time when plenty of people hated Jews enough to allow a mass extermination of them.

Hitler could not do what he did with lots and lots of cooperation.

Today there are those who deny that any of it happened, or who say that it was all greatly exaggerated. And there are those who say that EVA BRAUN was loved by Hitler because she was naive, a country girl at heart, innocent in her way.

Is it true?

Did she have any power in her relationship with Hitler?

IS SHE THE WOMAN WHO COULD HAVE STOPPED THE HORROR by whispering in her man's ear, "Baby, please no."

How many mistresses have power in their relationships?
