WHAT'S IT MEAN WHEN HE WEARS NO RING? : ADVICE FROM MISSY
He may or may not tell you that he is married, as in legally married, or perhaps that he is living with someone without the legal but still in a committed to one person relationship. Or he may get around to telling you after you've been seeing him a while. (I think this last one is the most common!)
Some people tell the little white lie that turns into the big gray area because they are confused, don't really know the status of their relationship, or they are sure they are on the way to divorce. They may have started divorce proceedings, live separately, or had the big talk with the kids about the way it's going, but still not have filed the paperwork.
For those of you who want to know that a man is divorced before proceeding, let me say that at this point I've heard of everything, including the woman who, while friends with the man met his wife and who was shown signed divorced papers. But he never filed them.
Let's say you've gone ahead and fallen in love, or you had never encountered a person who wasn't completely faithful to another, or it just wasn't even in your mind to consider that the handsome man sitting across the table from you isn't ready, willing, and able to be with you legally if and when the time comes.
Here are some clues:
He has a tan except for the area on his ring finger where there is no ring. (Classic) (We wear wedding rings on the left hand in the U.S. but I've met people who wore their's on the right.)
He doesn't wear a wedding ring because he's one of those men who thinks only the married woman needs to signal to the world that she is bound to a partnership or commitment. (They had a single ring ceremony.) This man may think of a women as something he controls and owns or he may have reserved the right to sleep with other women.
He doesn't wear a wedding ring because of his work, where it could be a hazard. For instance, he works with electricity or a ring interferes with his playing an instrument.
He wears a ring on the wedding ring finger that isn't a band, and doesn't necessary look like a wedding band. (Maybe he wears a pinky ring too.) Please note that in some countries wedding rings are not worn on the left hand finger next to the pinky, so check the local customs!) Maybe he wears many rings on many fingers. He may just like jewelry.
...
IF YOU WANT TO BE CAUTIOUS...
Is he out of his home life context? If he is traveling for business, at a convention, on a vacation, or in some way far from home base? He may be taking the opportunity to meet women. (The cats away and playing with the mice.)
ASK HIM WHERE HE LIVES.
Is he out with other men who also appear to be single? He may be the married man out with old friends who are not married, having a Boys Night Out or celebrating a birthday or promotion, or maybe they all go out for a drink after work on Friday, or he may be in a pack of predators.
ASK YOURSELF WHAT YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION IS OF HIM and HIS FRIENDS.
(Men, if you want to go out to meet women, go out with just one other man so that you have company and don't feel awkwardly alone and can help each other meet women. The pack is intimidating to women who are out alone or with just one of their friends. Take separate transportation to the location, but agree to check in with each other before anyone leaves, don't get drunk or high and drive.)
HE GIVES YOU HIS PHONE NUMBER or BUSINESS CARD, and the number is a work number.
He may simply be interested in networking for business. Let him call you. Meet for a business lunch maybe, let him do the talking.

CALIFORNIA POLYAMOUROUS TRIO PLANNING TO MARRY
DAILY MAIL - THREESOME TO MARRY
EXCERPT: Having been together as three for almost seven years, Jimmy decided to propose to both of the girls on April 20. The date was fitting, as it was his tenth anniversary with ChaCha. They plan on getting married during the Holidays and also host a bash in Europe next spring.
Missy here: To clarify, this triad live in California but it is not legal to marry in California or anywhere in the United States. It will be interesting to see if Jimmy marries one of the women legally and which one, or what kind of ceremony they create.

LOUISE BROOKS UPDATE - NEW DOCUMENTARY FILM "THE CHAPERONE"
DAILY MAIL :LOUISE BROOKS : FILM :Julian Fellowes :The Chaperone
EXCERPT : For she was Louise Brooks - enigmatic sex siren of the silent screen era and arguably the most outrageous actress in Hollywood History. Her relationship with Ms. MIlls (her 36 year old chaperone when she was 15 years old and going to New York City to learn dance) is the subject of The Chaperon, a new film written by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes... ELIZABETH McGOVERN - aka Lady Cora in Downton - plays the chaperone while her headstrong and flirtatious charge is portrayed by young American actress HALEY LU RICHARDSON. ....
'At these parties we were not required, like common wh9ores, to go to bed with any man who asked us, but if we did the profits were great. Money, jewels, mink coats, a film job - name it.' ... One of these powerful men with film industry connections was Daily Express newspaper tycoon Lord Beaverbrook...
NOTE FROM MISSY : I believe this might be the same Lord Beaverbrook who was part of Mistress Pamela Digby Churchill Harriman's story.
FEBRUARY 2014 featured LOUISE BROOKS as Mistress of the Month here at MISTRESS MANIFESTO BLOGSPOT. Check out those posts!
You can search for her name, or also search for tags such as Hollywood, and may also be interested in CLARA BOW.

DANIELLE STEEL'S THE MISTRESS : MISTRESS MANIFESTO BOOK REVIEW
I "read" the book by listening to it and about half way through, I couldn't take it anymore. This New York Times best seller listed book is so dependent on stereotypes I was so very disappointed.
Though set in and around Monaco (one of the best places on earth for mistresses, my opinion), and the reality of Russian billionaires with gorgeous young women as Mistresses, unfortunately, while profiling a Classic Mistress as isolated, friendless, spoiled and pampered with unlimited shopping trips, but always servile, in wait, with very little to decide about her life on her own, the author, who has experienced numerous best seller love stories, clearly writes this young, beautiful, appealing, and pleasing young woman as having to run out of her prison of being Kept, by perhaps being seduced by a wealthy by most people's standards but much less wealthy by the one's she's become accustomed to. Can she be less materialistic because the young, more age appropriate man who is taken with her has just dumped his girlfriend - who comes from no money - for being too materialistic and expecting him to support her! (She's realistic but he hates her for that.)
Sensitive to the nuances due to close listening, I was aware that Steel drops hints that sometimes the Russian billionaire is also commanding and a little rough with his mistress sexually. She provides motivation for the beautiful young woman to leave her man.
Being a Mistress is one of the greatest literary fantasies there is, dozens of books being written about the lifestyle, so you have to wonder who is reading these books and having Mistress fantasies?
Are they women who are bored of but believing in their marriages? Are these readers the same people who think in real life Mistresses are horrible people - women who live to get other women's husbands?
So here at Mistress Manifesto BlogSpot, you have the opportunity to read all around Mistresses - the motivations, the reasons why, the failures and the successes, and you can "try on" if it's a lifestyle for YOU by learning about Kept Women and Men who actually lived the life!
Will you style yourself after "Coutesan of the 20th Century" Pamela Digby Churchill Harriman or Revolutionary Dancer Isadora Duncan? Liberace's "BoyToy" Scott Thorson or ex Beatle John Lennon's May Fung Yee Pang?

JEFF - A READER - LEFT A COMMENT I CAN'T PUBLISH and HAS A GOOD QUESTION
A while back I received a message from someone named Jeff on comments and it was complimentary but I cannot publish it because doing so would expose an e-mail address to the world. This I will never do, even if the person who sent the comment does not mention that the comment is to be kept private. I never e-mail because I've had mine hacked and cannot prove that the one being given to me really belongs to the person who provided it. Jeff was thinking maybe I had a feed such as Atom. He also has a slow computer.
I've been blogging MISTRESS MANIFESTO BLOGSPOT for some time and believe I have updated the HTML codes and privacy settings to reflect the latest technology from Google, which in the spring discontinued Google Plus and some other features. I believe the best way to get back to this site, if you have your own computer is to BOOKMARK it. I've bookmarked sites on my cell phone as well as my computer. Additionally, unless you clear a computer for privacy reasons, it will hold your searches in HISTORY.
I also enabled some time ago an OK for short portions of posts. I actually don't like what's happening with that. On some search engines I see six short excerpts that some computer program chose that are hardly illustrative of the intent or content of this blog and I imagine do not compel anyone to read it. I may be switching that off to see what happens.
Thank You for your comment Jeff and Than You to all of you for reading Mistress Manifesto BlogSpot.
Happy Summer!

LEANNE EDELSTEN as A CONTROVERSIAL WOMAN
NOW TO LOVE -WOMAN'S WEEKLY - THE LEANNE EDELSTEN STORY from 2010
EXCERPT: Regarding her marriage to Dr Geoffrey Edelsten.
This Leanne Edelsten is no longer willing to allow the many misconceptions about her to perpetuate. This Leanne Edelsten wants to be heard.
EXCERPT: Regarding her marriage to Dr Geoffrey Edelsten.
This Leanne Edelsten is no longer willing to allow the many misconceptions about her to perpetuate. This Leanne Edelsten wants to be heard.
“I want people to know what really did happen all those years ago,” she says. “I have sat back for the past 25 years and been told repeatedly by people that I ran away with Geoffrey’s money or that I ran out on him when the money ran out.
“This is one piece of history that I want to correct – for myself, for my children, my family, for my friends who all know the truth. There was a reason I left him. He betrayed me and left me with debts of hundreds of thousands of dollars. I have lived with misconceptions about me for decades and, now, I want people to know the truth.”

THE JEFFERY EPSTEIN SEX TRAFFICKING SCANDAL - HOW YOUNG IS TOO YOUNG TO HAVE SEX?
My Dearest Readers,
Like many of you I have been riveted by the breaking news of the Jeffery Epstein scandal. To reiterate, a multimillionaire financier named Jeffery Epstein - possibly a billionaire - who owned a private island and many properties - and who previously admitted to being a sex offender but had bargained to freedom - died in a jail cell where he awaited trial, having been considered a flight risk. There was a possible suicide attempt or he may have been the victim of attempted murder a couple weeks ago at that facility. There is a question about why no one noticed he was hanging himself this time. The autopsy report has not been revealed as I write this*, but it's likely he committed suicide in that cell rather than go through the trial - which promised to be excruciating and on the world stage - or rat out his friends.
Brave women, now adults, have come forth to testify against him and this case would not have been opened if it were not for unsealed documents - thousands of pages - which would implicate many other rich and important men - and of course they deny it. The FBI descended upon the island he owned where some of the underage women - 17, 16, 15, 14... went years ago and where they say they were ordered to have sex with generally much older wealthy men as "sex slaves." Some of these women - and this is how sex trafficking works - were likely recruited by other women for this purpose. The recruiters generally do not tell the whole truth of what will happen to the girls when they find them. They'll lure a high school girl who needs some money into "being nice" to their benefactor. Epstein's private jet was called by those who knew him "The Lolita Express."
Conspiracy theories are abundant, not only in the media and on independent "journalist" YouTube channels, but in the conversations everywhere I go, with President Donald Trump managing to sling Hillary and Bill Clinton - again - with insinuations of involvement. (Jeeze! He already won the election - forget it already!) One person said it all "stinks to high heaven" and I sure do agree.
At another time I may be able to upload a couple YouTube videos that I feel ought to be on this post. Be aware some videos about this scandal have warnings of Graphic Content - or rated X. I will name a couple that impressed me here: Search for Kimberly Mehlmnan Orczco "Hidden in Plain Sight" - CBS news. She's a sex trafficking expert discussing the case. And the Miami Herald - "Years Late, Epstein victims discuss the lasting Impact." (A woman journalist broke the case against the man long ago.) I also urge you to read the posts here at MISTRESS MANIFESTO BLOGSPOT that are about sex trafficking (and prostitution), using the search feature, or by going through my archives.
One article I read stated that Epstein told people that the taboo against sex with under the legal age (18) was just a cultural thing. It IS a cultural thing, but that doesn't make it legal. No doubt about it - at least in my mind - Epstein was a sex addict - and he was empowered by getting away with a lot. Some, if not all, of the people who spent time with him must have known he liked too young women. Was no one at least suspicious?
Attorneys for the alleged victims want to proceed with suits against other, alive people and Epstein's estate. The French Government is looking in to it. I suspect other governments will follow. Sadly, the involvement of Prince Andrew - once married to Sarah Ferguson - and the media rumors that they may soon remarry - even seems suspicious to me. But being at a party Epstein threw or walking in the park talking to him does not mean Andrew actually was a pedophile. It's possible that Epstein's "girls" were not identified by their real names or ages to all the men they say they had sex with.
It's true that some cultures still practice arranged marriage and child marriage - but not ours, not today. I frankly think no one should marry until they have experienced supporting themselves and living independently from their parents/family for at least a year (and being Kept does not count), but being married at 14 or 16 was legal, generally with parental permission, in the past history of the United States.
Also, we also all know that some rock stars became notorious for having underage groupies. Are they going to be implicated or called out for this years later?
SEX TRAFFICKING, being forced into PROSTITUTION, is not the same as MARRIAGE, which is usually a commitment between two people. It's not the same as a woman going after a rock star for a trophy experience. I realize there are a lot of circumstances that beg us to realize how complicated it can get that blur the issue but consider.
Being loved - having your heart in it - being a sexual adventurer - having a choice - is not the same as taking a job as a masseuse and being raped by someone who you have no relationship with and see as a client. It's not the same to be 14 or 16 and have a boyfriend of the boy next door who goes off to college a couple years before you and who probably comes to your house with your parent's approval to go on dates. (Elvis Presley had Priscilla's parent's permission to go live with him as a school girl. The joke goes he raised her the way he wanted her to be.) Technically if you're under 18 and have a college age boyfriend and have sex with him, your parents can have him charged with statutory rape but who does that? Obviously teenagers are having sex with other teenagers or we wouldn't be offering contraception and abortion or have so many children born to them. Close ages as is typical with teenagers and young adults in relationships and actual relationships are not the same as having a pimp or being given over to much older - often married - men to have the kind of sex they want to have when they want it.
SEX SLAVES or SEX TRAFFICKED people - be they underage or over the legal age of 18, whatever their gender or sexuality - have NO CHOICE. Don't argue with me that everyone has a choice all the time or that our lives and their outcome are all about what we want to manifest. (Tell that to people who experienced concentration camps under the Nazis!) Their inexperience in life, their fear of what will happen to them if they tell and reach out for help or escape, especially if the person(s) who have them entrapped are powerful, wealthy, and connected, and often their emotional confusion, and the abuse, keep them where they are, alive not well. I believe that there are many people who are not actually ready for relationships or sex though much older than 18, but the law says 18 is the age of adulthood and permission. It's also the age to vote, register for the draft and to be drafted if needed, to drink alcohol, and the age of consent.
There probably isn't a woman alive who doesn't know someone who has been molested while underage. Molested can mean a variety of activities but lets start with groping as sexual assault. It feels horrible when you get your breasts grabbed or your crouch grabbed as a adult, which has happened to me four times, twice in recent years while just walking down the street, once when I was walking out the door of a dance club, and once when I feel asleep on public transport. (And I was dressed a bit sexy only for the dance club.) I've experienced sexual harassment on interviews. Friends of mine have stories of being date raped, even violently, and yet almost no one filed police complaints and the trial for one friend was a travesty, with her rapist testifying that she needed to be beat up to have orgasms; years of therapy and she's still not able to date. It gets to the point where some people are no longer interested in relationships, in dating, in sex, in men.
Seriously.
Missy
* As of this morning, August 15th, I understand that the coroner is not ready to say Epstein's death was the result of suicide. Certain neck bones of his are broken, which also happens due to strangling.
** As of September 17, 2019 this post has been slightly edited for more clarity.
*** As of September 25, 2019 though officially considered suicide, there are still those who differ and think Epstein was murdered. More women have come forth and are giving individual and collective interviews. It has been said that psychiatrists, gynecologists, and others in the medical profession, treated the sex slaves and the numbers of people implicated grows. Shame on them.

Seriously.

"MISS HOOD" LEANNE EDELSTEN and THE RESPECTED, LITERARY AUSTRALIAN CLIVE "MR WOLF" JAMES
In 2012 news services began to publish that Clive James and Leanne Edelsten (maiden name Leanne Nesbitt) had an affair. As affairs are common, you might wonder what made this one so newsworthy. If you're in America but not in Britain or Australia you may have never heard of Clive James unless you know much about writers and literature.
Clive James, the man, aka Vivian Leopold James, gained fame as an Australian literary author also successful in Britain. This extremely active writer is also a poet and memoirist as well as a critic. He's been a broadcaster and done chat shows such as Clive James on Television and The Clive James Show and British television documentaries. But perhaps it was his autobiographical television series called Unreliable Memoirs that gave people the feeling they knew the man. (And he has published since the revelation of his relationship with Leanne, so his affair didn't hurt his career.)
Clive said he was a flirt but that he never went further. His audience and fans were actually shocked to hear that this married man had an affair at all.
Perhaps it's that the "affair" lasted 8 years and Leanne Edelsten spoke to the media about it. Unlike so many other women wrongly called "mistresses" in the media (over brief encounters with famous people), she was!
Leanne was an ex model and socialite and 24 years younger than Clive James. She was then 48 when the broken affair made news. She called him "Mr. Wolf" when she spoke to The Daily Mail, telling Writers Sara Nathan and Richard Shears for Mailonline (the internet version of Daily Mail), that he called her "Miss Hood" for Red Riding Hood.
She bragged that he was "a legend" of a lover, that men half his age couldn't keep up with him. She said he ravished her. Her words were like an advertisement for the youthful energy of some older men and figured in to his notoriety. Also reported was that the two lovers ate a Cherry Ripe candy bar and cup of tea before each time they had sex. Not kinky but cute.
Perhaps James went from fame to infamy due to the reaction of his wife, an academic named Prue (Prudence) Shaw, who responded to the news of his long term mistress by throwing him out of their house in the college town of Cambridge, England. He landed in a shabby basement student type apartment.
Leanne, continuing to bring up the sexy banter the two lovers shared and said she didn't feel sorry for the 73 year old's wife at all. (They'd been married 45 years.) That attitude of Leanne's made it all more interesting. And I think it's one that might be typical of Mistresses; one feels she loves him more than a wife or that if things were going well in the marriage he would not* be looking elsewhere. As one news story - there were dozens - indicated, shame is out of fashion.
Leanne said she and Clive met in Sydney in a restaurant and that Clive is not just a flirt but a funny flirt who always made her laugh. She was on her way to a second divorce and said the affair didn't start while she was legally married. She took the Edesten surname from her first husband,Geoffrey Walter Edelsten, whom she met at 19 when she was modeling.
Edesten, the first ex husband, has called her a liar.
According to reports in the press Edesten was a much older medical entrepreneur who founded Allied Medical Group with a partner in 2005.
Leanne said he asked her to marry him on their first date, showered her with riches including a personal helicopter, a sports car, and a sports team, the Sydney Swans. Also known for his fleet of Lamborghini's with vanity licence plates and Rolls-Royce's, the doctor was not the most conventional man.
As for Clive James, perhaps it's just that the affair with Leanne came to public attention. His marriage to Prue ended.
To the television show Current Affair, Leanne said that she outed the affair herself because she feared the British press was going to anyway. And she said she still loved Clive James. Was he really a confused old man when she met up with him to out herself and him for the show?
To Benjamin Millar of the Sydney Morning Herald she said, ''I want the truth, rather than come from a defensive position. He will be an incredibly hard act to follow.''
New technology was part of it. The two lovers used e-mail to communicate before and during the affair. Twitter users went wild making commentary when they learned about the affair. James refused to make comment to various journalists who approached him. He got around to apologizing for his behavior stating he had not been a good husband.
The relationship with Clive ended and Leanne moved on to a more modest life. She got an education. She's an intensive care nurse.
In 2015, Leanne made the news again after being assaulted outside St Vincent’s Hospital.
